If you’re planning to marry in the UK, and looking to blend luxury wedding venues, stunning surroundings and timeless style, then look no further than a unique Cotswolds wedding. The Cotswolds are home to a plethora of unique, luxury wedding venues, designed for fun-loving couples who appreciate the finer things in life. As laidback luxury wedding planners we are seeing more and more of our clients, from both the UK and overseas, being drawn to the area – and for good reason.
Read on as we reveal a few of our favourite unique Cotswolds wedding venues to kickstart your wedding planning…
If you want to avoid a ‘cookie cutter’ wedding, then look no further than an Aynhoe Park wedding. With floating giraffes and unicorns on pianos, it’s safe to say Aynhoe is no ordinary wedding venue. Sharing very much the same ethos as us, Aynhoe aim to create bespoke wedding experiences, as unique and individual as each couple themselves.
Everything at Aynhoe Park is about the experience– from lawn games and afternoon tea the day before your wedding, to quirky treasures hidden around each of the many rooms for you to explore. Plus, as they focus on weekend weddings, you know you have time to soak it all up and make the most of this extraordinary wedding venue without having to worry about being rushed off.
Our favourite thing though about Aynhoe Park? The fact they are bang up for a party. Aside from a fantastic dancefloor and disco balls aplenty, the fun doesn’t stop once the music does, with games rooms and hot tubs to keep both you and your guests entertained.
Built in 1274, Elmore Court only opened its doors for weddings back in 2013 but since then has become an increasingly popular choice for couples seeking a unique wedding venue. The house and gardens offer exclusive use, and with civil ceremonies available on-site and 13thcentury Elmore Church less than a mile down the road, there are plenty of options available when it comes to both your ceremony and your reception.
Sustainably built from earth and timber from the estate, The Gillyflower is a fully sound-proofed space built for celebrating – the perfect place for enjoying good food, good wine and a good party with your closest friends and family! And with a beautiful bridal suite and 15 bedrooms on site, you know you don’t have to go far at the end of the night.
Cripps Barn is one of those venues that’s perfectly equipped for weddings, whatever the season. With jaw-dropping countryside views and a magical woodland glade and gardens, it’s seriously spectacular during summer, and an ideal place to be outside with friends and family. But its charming 18th century character inside, with flagstone floors and large fireplaces makes it equally wonderful as a winter wedding venue. The stone walls illuminated by candlelight make for such an amazing yet intimate atmosphere, also offering a great blank canvas for whatever flowers and styling you desire.
If, like us, you’re a serious foodie then you certainly won’t be disappointed here. With their own team of highly qualified chefs, a tailor-made grill and huge 8-spit rotisserie and smoker, not to mention an enormous BBQ, you definitely won’t be going hungry. Not only is the food delicious but just watching it being cooked up is a feast for the eyes, and great entertainment for your guests. Plus, there’s a great selection of street food available come evening, from bao buns to sourdough pizzas.
And if you want the perfect pairing with your food, their in-house wine experts won’t let you down, with access to fine wines from boutique wineries across Europe.
Another member of the Cripps family, Stone Barn shares many of the same benefits as Cripps Barn – with breath-taking views, beautifully renovated buildings packed full of features, and of course is a haven for foodies.
One of our favourite features at Stone Barn are the Dutch Barns – their use of corrugated iron gives them the feel of a more industrial wedding venue, yet with all the benefits of being situated in the heart of the countryside. With arched ceilings covered in fairylights for a beautiful, soft glow, these barns are seriously special and fit up to 194 guests seated for dinner, so are plenty big enough to cater even for most larger weddings.
As with Cripps Barn, they feature a huge rotisserie, smoker and BBQ to create the most amazing menus for your wedding day, along with perfectly paired wines. Heaven!
The Slaughters Manor House
Set in one of the Cotswolds’ prettiest villages, The Slaughters Manor House combines contemporary style with traditional charm. Add to that five acres of beautiful English country gardens, 19 luxurious guest rooms and an award-winning restaurant, and you know you have a great wedding venue.
From the outside, this venue has the traditional Cotswolds charm, yet inside stands out for its bright, contemporary furnishings and styling. It’s bar area features bang-on-trend blush velvet bar stools, whilst its restaurant is well-known in the area for its fine dining and great wine selections. A great spot for combining city chic style and countryside charm!
If you’re looking for a smaller and more intimate wedding, yet still wanting luxury and style, Twyning Park not only offers a highly personalised service but also a great blank canvas for your wedding.
This exclusive hire Cotswold wedding venue has plenty of options for luxury intimate weddings, but can easily cater for larger celebrations too, with space for a marquee, tipi or yurt in the meadows on the side of the River Avon. Whatever size of wedding you’re after, family-run Twyning Park only offers a limited number of weddings per year, meaning it’s rather more exclusive and you certainly won’t be ‘just another number’.
